1. This Iraqi woman writes of the failings of the US-installed IGC and CPA in their roles as leaders of the Iraqi people.

2.  William Blum writes about terrorist motivation, including some historical examples that might be useful to you in debunking the myth that "terrorists hate our democracy, freedom, way of life, etc, etc."

3. Again, I find myself appreciating what Pat Buchanan has to say - revealing the baloney in some of Bush's statements during last week's press conference.

4. US troops have been involved in "clashes" along the Syrian border, against both Iraqis and Syrians. Does this foretell more overt military action against Syria? How do our "leaders" think they can sustain additional areas of conflict?

5.  Well, they probably won't read it because the title is "The Top 19 dumbest statements of the week", but if you want to keep trying to show them the light, send this to your Republican friends.

6.  Let's hope the training these peace-keeping forces receive is not based on the training we currently provide at the School of the Assasins. Just what the world needs, more armed peacekeepers.

1. A recent poll of the Iraqi people (for what polls are worth, which is questionable!)
2. And a recent poll of the American people
3. Oil prices and the economy
4. A message from Kathy Kelly
5. Chaos theory in action in Iraq
6. Fact check on Condi's testimony

1.  The results of this poll should be worrisome to the Bush Administration, though I don't suppose they really care if the Iraqis get democracy as long as they can work out an agreement for US bases to stay there indefinitely.

2. A recent Pew poll has Bush's numbers dropping sharply, in contrast to some other polls I've seen recently.  I do wish we knew what questions were being asked and how they are being asked, in order to evaluate how skewed the results might be.

3. If you aren't a whiz at economics (I know I'm not) this is a neat little explanation of how oil prices, the dollar, the deficit, and the economic recovery fit together. This author forecasts "the perfect storm" - let's hope he's wrong.

4. Kathy is in prison for crossing the line at the SOA protest last November. She has this to say about the concept of "pacification"

5.  This op-ed writer addresses how the ongoing chaos may or may not be an element in achieving the goals of the Bush Administration

6.  Here is a list of Condi's claims and the facts that belie her testimony.
